Chapter 11; Countdown

I had never felt more comfortable in my life. I had been waiting for someone to listen to my story for 2 years, and here he was with strong arms wrapped around my torso.

“You didn’t deserve to live that kind of life,” Chris breathed by my ear.

I couldn’t even begin to tell him that I had wondered all my life what I did to deserve the life I had been given. What could have possibly made god hate me so much, if there even was a god out there.

I think I had lost faith a long time ago.

“Maybe I did something awful in a past life, ” I half joked, although the atmosphere around us was too thick for it to even be considered slightly funny.

Chris spun me around to face him, before encompassing me completely in his arms. “You didn’t deserve it Kaela,” his voice demanded.

And it made me want to believe that maybe, just maybe he was right.

I took a breath, and my whole world changed around me.

All at once, everything inside me was okay.

It was okay that I didn’t die.

It was okay that I didn’t graduate.

It was okay that I had sold my body to strangers.

Because if I hadn’t, this very moment would have never existed.

-

“I need to work before I eat!” Lucky continued to say while shaking his head back and forth.

“Sweetie, you don’t need to do anything,” I tried to convince him, picking up his fork and trying to feed him.

“I ate yesterday and I didn’t do anything!”

“And that’s okay!” I attempted to persuade him, failing miserably. I didn’t know what I was going to have to do to make him eat, because of course I wasn’t going to give him work to do!

Chris walked into the dining room, dressed for work, and leaned against the wall, “What’s going on?”

“He won’t eat. He keeps telling me to give him work,” I sighed, exasperated.

Chris made an odd face before walking over to Lucky who was sitting down on the dining room chair with arms folded across his chest. Chris bent down scrutinizing Lucky, before saying, “Do you remember what Kaela said to you last night.”

Lucky looked at him as if he was asking a ridiculous question, “Yes!”

In the next second, Chris had lifted Lucky into his arms and proceeded to hang him upside down.

“AHHHH!” Lucky shrieked.

“Families do not make their members do work in order to eat,” Chris said with a huge smile on his face while he dangled the shrieking Lucky in the air, “they also like to dangle their youngest member in the air until they stop shrieking and listen.”

Within a second, Lucky had slammed his mouth shut but Chris kept him upside down.

“Chris, all the blood is going to rush into his head!” I laughed at Lucky’s red face, as Chris flipped Lucky back up and held him properly in his arms.

“Have I made myself clear?” Chris smirked.

Lucky nodded his head profusely, and Chris ruffled his hair in response and sat him back down in his seat. Chris watched him lazily, while Lucky hesitated before picking up his fork and shoveling some eggs into his mouth.

“It’s a miracle,” I sighed.

“I have been called god’s gift to the world, many times,” Chris smirked.

I smiled up at Chris, realizing the truth in his words. Although he said it jokingly, I didn’t know if he realized how much that statement was true.

“The repackaged gift, he didn’t want?”

What?

There was no need for him to know that I admired him along with the rest of the world.

“I’m hurt, Kaela,” Chris smiled, “I think a kiss would make it better.”

“Lucky for you, Julia will be willing to comply with those terms,” I teased.

“And you’re not?” He smirked.

“I was trying to save all my kisses for Trey today. He’s taking me and Lucky out, since your house isn’t exactly kid heaven.”

Chris frowned slightly before his face reverted back to its original form. “Lucky, I actually do have work for you today.”

Me and Lucky both looked up at Chris curiously, who beckoned for Lucky to come to him. Chris bent down and whispered something in his ear, while staring directly at me, “Can you do that?”

Lucky looked at me and then nodded.

“Do you want to fill me in, Chris?”

“Kaela, you can’t speak like that in front of Lucky,” Chris smirked half- trying to cover Lucky’s ears.

I was confused at first, but then I looked at his smirking face and I realized the meaning behind his words.

Fill me in, as in….

“I-“

“I’ll be back tonight, babe. No rush,” Chris winked at me before walking out of the dining room.

What an infuriating man!

I turned to look at Lucky who had resumed his place at the table and was finishing his food.

“Luck-“

“I can’t tell you.”

-

“Kaela! Bella! Fountain of youth!” Trey came running up to me, before wrapping me in his arms and spinning me around. He planted a huge kiss on my lips before exclaiming, “I missed you!”

“Fountain of youth? Really, Trey?” I laughed.

“7, 8, 9, 10!”

Lucky came running over to us and pushed our bodies apart.

Trey laughed, “Is this the little guy you told me about? Your nephew?”

“Yes,” I smiled looking down at him. “Trey this is Lucky, Lucky this is Trey.”

Trey bent down and put a huge smile on his face, he raised his hand in the air for a high five, but Lucky looked at it before turning and walking away.

“That was cold, little man.” Trey resumed his standing position. “I’m usually great with kids!”

“I think they find your gold tooth comforting.” I laughed touching his cheek.

“I know, throw some lipstick on me, and I’m their fairytale Goldie.”

“One of my many nicknames for you, actually,” I smiled.

“Among Adonis, Hot Stuff, Trigga and Pleasure Giver?”

I fell into a fit of laughter at that, having to bend down and hold my stomach for fear that my body would rack out of control.

Pleasure giver?!?!!

“I don’t know if I should be glad that I’ve made you laugh or hurt that you think my nicknames are so funny.”

“A little bit of both,” I said still not able to recover from his joke.

“You wouldn’t be laughing if you’d let me demonstrate the truth in my words.”

“No, I’m pretty sure I’d still be laughing.”

Lucky rejoined us then donned in a jacket that was as big as his body.

“Is that Chris’?” I questioned amused.

He nodded.

Chris had left me his credit card, and I realized that the first thing we’d have to do is buy Lucky some clothes.

“He likes Chris that much?” Trey laughed, “I never thought of Chris as a kid person. Too much testosterone. I’ve got enough of it to make women weak in the knees, and still have some contact with my feminine and maternal side.”

“You mean enough to make teenage girls weak in their knees?”

“Ouch.”

-

The noise around us was my heaven. The musical sound of children’s laughter. They shouted and screamed, pushed and hugged, played and fought and it was all amazing because in the end all their problems could be solved in two minutes.

Lucky was currently playing in a ball pit with a bunch of other children in Roger’s Playhouse, which like its name said, was a huge playhouse for children. Almost like a classier version of Chucky Cheese’s, although, when you really look at it, these kids behaved the same as all other children did.

“You really like kids, don’t you?” Trey questioned smiling at me from across the table.

“How could you tell?”

“It’s written all over your face!” Trey stood up and beckoned me to follow suit, “Come.”

He walked over to the ball pit where Lucky was playing with a couple kids.

“Wha-!” I was cut off as Trey gathered me in his arms and threw me into the ball pit. I sunk under a bunch of colored balls before sticking my head out shocked to see that Trey had climbed in behind me. Before I knew what was happening kids were throwing balls at us and Trey was nailing each one of them causing them to break out into laughter.

I looked at the ridiculous image of Trey in the ball pit, and laughed. I took a ball in my hand and threw it right at the back of his head. This officially made me target by all the kids. Balls were flying everywhere and I was laughing, and the kids were yelling and it was all so funny!

“What are you doing?!” A heavily made up women questioned from outside of the ball pit, “Do you have no shame? You are an adult.”

I looked at her and instantly felt small.

What was I doing?

“Shut up Layla!” I yelled from behind me. Before I knew what was happening a red ball went flying in the air and hit her square in the face. She sputtered and I looked at her shocked.

“James, get out here this instance!”

“You’re not my real mom, I don’t have to listen to you!”

By this time, Trey had made his way to my side and a worker had approached the pen.

“Excuse me,” she stuttered clearly enraptured with Trey, “I’m sorry but the ball pen is f-for children on-only.”

“I’m a child at heart,” Trey smiled and winked at the girl, causing her face to turn bright red.” Don’t worry, we were just about the leave, I didn’t mean to cause a pretty girl like you trouble.”

I didn’t think it was possible for a face to turn that shade of red. I nudged Trey so he would stop his cruel treatment and he smiled at me before getting up and stretching, revealing a hint of his washboard abs and low hanging jeans. Even I found myself admiring his body which was clearly different from Chris’ but still as appreciate-able. And, yes, I did just make that word up.

He climbed out and extended his hand to help me, lifting me out bridal style and holding me close to his body.

Lucky followed, pushing balls out of the way to come over, “8,9,10.”

He climbed out the ball pit and pulled on my arm causing Trey to put me down on the floor. Lucky dragged me a good ten feet away, before letting go of my hand.

“Do you need me?” I questioned.

“No.” He said not lifting his head to meet mine. I watched him curiously as he walked to the cubby and grabbed his new jacket and put on his shoes.

“What’s with him and counting to ten?”

“What?” I looked at Trey confused.

“You haven’t noticed? He keeps counting to ten before coming over to us.”

“No, I hadn’t noticed.”

That was odd.

“Well, its 6:30, I think we should probably head back,” I stated as Lucky arrived ready to go.

“No problem, Beauty.”

“No matter how many terms of endearment you call me, it’s not going to make me hop into bed with you any faster.”

“Yes!” He rooted.

“What?” I asked confused.

“You said it wouldn’t make you hop into bed with me any faster, that means you were planning on hopping into bed with me!”

I looked at Trey, like he had grown two heads. Of course he would turn my insult around to benefit him.

“I never did hear what happened with you and the red head that night,” I brought up referring to the night we all went clubbing.

“I don’t want to talk about it,” he said making a disgusted face, “Becky really drank way too much that night. I was so disappointed that I didn’t get to keep you warm that night,” he wiggled his eyebrows, and smiled down at Lucky.

“Let’s go, Trey,” I smiled.

-

“Stay in the car for a minute.” Trey said, as he suddenly pulled over and leapt from his seat out of his car.

Lucky was being unusually quiet in the backseat, so I turned to look at him and saw that he was staring out of the window.

“What are you thinking about?” I asked looking back at him.

He turned to look at me slowly, “Nothing.”

“Come on, you can tell me, Lucky. We’re family, remember?”

He looked up at those words with hurt reflected in his eyes, “Kaela?”

“Yes?”

“Please don’t ever leave me.”

I stared down at the vulnerable little boy in front of me and said firmly, “I’d never do that. I promise.” I reached back, ruffled his hair and smiled.

The car door opened beside me and Trey happily sat down, “Look what I got!”

He took a box out of a big bag and handed it back to Lucky.

Lucky entire face lit up as he started excitedly bouncing up and down in his seat, “It’s-It’s a-!”

“-the new Nintendo DS! I didn’t know if you had one already, but judging by your reaction I beat Chris to it!” Trey laughed looking back at Lucky, “High-five little man,” he said raising his hand in the air.

Lucky slapped it back happily, “Kaela, he got me a-a-!”

“That’s great, now you’ll have something to do at the house,” I smiled at Trey,” What do you say to Trey, Lucky?”

“Thank you! Thank you! I always saw other kids with-thank you!” He shrieked, “I’ve never got a-a,” Lucky’s eyes overflowed with tears, “Thank you!”

“Whoa, there little man. No tears necessary, you’d think nobody’s ever given him a toy before!” Trey laughed. I smiled sadly; Trey would never understand how true those words were.

We pulled up to the house twenty minutes later, and Trey got out and walked us to the door.

“Thanks for taking us out, Trey,” I smiled, gently placing a kiss on his cheek.

He groaned, “Kaela, I felt that all the way down in my pants, you tease.”

“I try,” I stuck my tongue out.

“Bye, little man” Trey said looking a Lucky who looked down at the box in his hand and handed it to me. Trey bent down and held his arms open and Lucky gladly ran into them and allowed Trey to spin him around in the air before placing him back on the ground, “I’ll see you later, goddess.”

I rolled my eyes at Trey before opening the front door with the spare keys Chris had given to me in the morning.

“I don’t know about you, Lucky, but I need a nice warm bath!” I said smiling at him, while closing the door behind me.

“With bubbles!” He said happily.

-

“Kaela,” Chris called from behind his bathroom door, “Is that you?”

“Yeah, I’m taking a bath,” I responded, while putting shampoo in Lucky’s hair. I had originally tried giving him a bath first, but he ended up getting me all wet so I climbed in and joined him. The whirlpool was big enough to hold four people, and he was a seven year old kid so I decided what the heck.

I continued lathering and was shocked when I heard the door open, “You don’t mind if I join-“

Chris stopped mid stride in all his nakedness, to observe me and Lucky in the bathtub. I stared up at him and burst into laughter, “This isn’t what it looks like,” I quipped.

“Very funny,” He said with no real humor in his voice, “Would you like to explain?”

“My secret love affair with a 7 year old?” I smiled up at him, “There’s still plenty of room for you to join, Chris.”

“No!” Lucky shrieked.

That drove me into further hysterics. It seems that boys were the same at every age. No tolerance for sharing!

“Better luck next time, Chris?” I winked.

He looked at me and smirked, “And here I thought I was going to fulfill your earlier request. Somebody to ‘fill you in’?”

“Touche. Later?” I breathed.

“I can’t, there’s something about this image that’s turning me off.”

“Oh, you don’t like to watch, only participate?” I repeated his familiar words.

“Oh no, I like to watch,” he said wrapping a towel around his waist “It’s just the ‘you and a 7 year old’ thing that’s not doing it for me.”

I laughed, Chris smirked and Lucky looked between the two of us confused.

You know, I’m pretty sure this wasn’t the typical married couples conversation but it didn’t stop me from imagining it was. That some dad out there had been cock-blocked by his son, and was left in the very same position as Chris. I don’t know about you, but the thought was hilarious to me.

Chris turned to leave, but while he was opening the door, he paused, “Lucky?”

“Yes,” he responded instantly.

“Mission accomplished?”

Lucky looked at me, smiled and said, “Yes sir!”

“Good work, kid,” Chris winked and walked out of the door.

“What mission?” I asked confused.

“I can’t tell you,” Lucky giggled before dunking his head under the water.

“Of course.”

Chapter 9; A lucky stranger

“Action!”

-

Hey, sweetie,” I smiled at Chris while placing a quick kiss on his cheek and sitting down on the couch with him. “How was work?”

He looked at me, displaying a hint of sadness while answering, “Fine,” and turning his head back to the television.

On cue, a knock on the door sounded and I jumped curiously to answer the door. I opened the door, to reveal Julia behind it.

Hi,” I sighed dejectedly, “Joshua, Hannah’s here.”

Chris appeared in the doorway anxiously looking back and forth between me and Julia. “What’s up, Han?”

We need you down at the office.”

At this time? ” I gasped.

It’s important. It’s something only Joshua can do. I don’t know how late he’ll be, I wouldn’t want you to wait up.” Julia said with a secret undertone of a smirk.

Are you sure it can’t wait ‘til tomorrow? I wanted to spend some time with my wife.” Chris came up beside me and wrapped his arms around my waist.

She’ll always be here, Joshua. Others won’t,” this time she did smirk and I had to pretend to be clueless to the undertone of her words. Others, meaning her, would not always be around for him to fuck. But his, gentle, naïve wife would be.

Just go,” I said coaxing Chris forward, “I’ll see you in the morning.” As he and Julia, walked out of the door, I felt the urge to grab his arm. Although it was unscripted I stood on my toes and kissed him on the cheek and whispered, “I love you.”

I couldn’t tell if he was shocked because of me doing something unscripted or if he was just trying to play along with my improvisation, but either way it worked. They then turned and walked out of the door.

-

“Cut.”

“What the fuck was that, Kaela?” Julia chastised.

Finding out that I was casted as a part in her movie and taking up all of Chris’ free time, obviously, was making her bitter.

“What was what?” I said feigning innocence.

“That end part! That wasn’t in the script.”

“It felt right.” I shrugged.

“It was perfect!” exclaimed the director behind me. “It should have been in the script. Excellent job, Anderson. I knew I wasn’t wrong in casting you as Sara. You’ve taken on her character completely.”

“Amateurs, don’t add lines to the script.” Julia warned.

“But when they do, directors decide whether to keep it. Not other actresses.” he answered back.

Julia looked at me with fury in her eyes and I was secretly pleased that she was getting so worked up. But Chris seemed to want to play mediator.

“It’s done already. Let’s do the next scene,” He said.

Julia seemed to want to go along with whatever Chris said and agreed quickly. Of course she would.

She was head over heels for him, but she wasn’t going to get anything but staged love scenes from now on. Not while I was around at least.

Saturday, had been a rollercoaster ride for me, but in the end, I had gotten my box and -I think- I had left the apartment for good. Instead of sleeping with a different guy every night, I was now only sleeping with one-

Christopher Maurice Brown.

What a fucking joke.

I looked up at him and Julia getting ready for the next scene and I once again was made aware of the fact that I didn’t belong in this world. That I was only in it until Chris got tired of me, settled down and impregnated some pretty, famous actress.

And I was okay with that, I tried to convince myself, because until then;

He was mine.

-

“Ahh! I’m bored , ” I yawned staring up at Chris who was reading lines for the next scene. My scenes for today were over, and I had been watching them try to solve a murder for the past 3 hours.

He looked down at me smiling, “Making a movie isn’t as glamorous as you thought, is it?”

I sighed.

“Give me your keys,” I said standing up.

Chris’ raised one eyebrow at my request, “Why?”

“I’m going out. I’m not sitting here for another 3 hours to watch, Julia seduce you into bed 7 more times.” I stretched out my hand impatiently.

Chris smirked, “Are you jealous?”

I made a face of disgust, “You wish. Bored is more like it.”

“Oh, so our sex scene bores you?”

“Pretty much,” I replied as Chris leaned down to my ear.

“Watching others doesn’t excite you, but participating does?” His cool breath had the hairs on the back of my neck standing up.

“Oh no, I like it both ways. ” I said touching his chest. “It’s just the ‘you and her’ thing that isn’t doing it for me.”

“I think that’s because you wish it was you.” I could feel him smile against my ear.

“I don’t have to wish. I can have you anytime.” I looked up at him while I trailed my hand from his hip under his shirt. His brown eyes were a light with fire and I smiled, finding out that I had such a strong effect on him.

I snaked my hand around him and stuck them into the back pocket of his jeans. He pushed his hips towards mine and I laughed, expertly removing his car keys from his pocket. His expression was shocked when he realized that that was my intention all along.

“Thanks,” I smiled and turned away from him only to feel a pair of strong arms around my waist pull me back into him.

“That wasn’t nice, Kae.”

“Never said I was nice, Chris.” I was enjoying this moment of intimacy. With his arms at my waist and my back to his chest, I felt…giggly. Like a high school girl.

“Ahem,” Julia cleared her throat while standing in front of us. “I need to run some lines with you, Chris.”

Chris sent her an amused gaze. Julia always practiced her lines by herself. Never once did she ‘need to run some lines’ with him. She obviously didn’t like our intimacy.

I smiled, pulling out of Chris’ arms. I looked at the two of them. They really did make the perfect couple.

But perfect is boring.

“I’ll be back in an hour or two, “I said and waved at him, “Thanks for the keys.” I jingled them and my smile widened.

-

I drove Chris’ Bentley to a place called Mia’s, in downtown Los Angeles. I honestly didn’t think it was the best idea to be driving such an expensive car there, but I had no choice; only their pizza would satisfy my craving.

I parked the car in front of the store and watched warily as some rough looking men eyed me while walking by. The buildings around Mia’s were either deserted or covered in graffiti. The red and green sign, although worn, was still shining as bright as I remembered and it lit up the dreary block. I stepped out the car, locked the door twice, and went inside. It was the same people who worked there, but of course, none of them recognized me. They stared at me like I was an alien and didn’t belong there.

What they didn’t understand was that I was just like them.

I ordered my pizza and turned to sit in the car and wait. I stepped through the store door and outside I heard a bunch of kids yelling on corner.

“Give me your money.”

“No,” A little boy, couldn’t be over the age of seven, yelled back defiantly “It’s so I can buy pizza.”

“Yeah, well us big boys need that money for more important things.” Laughter rose in the group.

“Yeah, more important things than your fucking pizza.”

The little kid balled his hands into a fist.

“What you gonna’ do? Hit me?” The older boy pushed the little one and snatched the money out of his hands. That was all I could take before having to intervene.

“What do you guys think you’re doing?” I yelled stalking over to them.

“Mind your fucking business, hoe!” The boy who had snatched the money yelled. As I got closer the group of boys broke out into a run. By the time I got to the end of the block only the little boy was there. His face was bright red and his brown eyes were bloodshot and filled to the brim with tears.

“Are you okay, sweetie?”

He wiped his eyes quickly, “I’m fine, “he said angrily.

“What happened?”

“None of your business,” he said walking past me in the direction of the pizza store.

I sighed; I should have expected that he’d be a little difficult about it.

“Look,” I started, “I’m sorry, I didn’t get there before they took your money, but I can buy you a slice pizza.”

He stopped walking then and turned to face me, his face all red again. “I don’t need your charity!”

The little boy looked up at me and ran down the block.

“Wait!” I yelled after him, but he didn’t stop and then disappeared around the corner.

I walked back to the pizza store sighing. They had my order ready and on the counter and I sat down with my Sicilian slice and took a bite. It was good, but my head was still thinking about that little boy.

I hadn’t meant to insult him, I thought sadly.

I finished and stood up, thanking the people in the store before I left. I was striding to Chris’ car when I saw that same little boy running down the street with tears streaming down his face. I stopped for a minute to look, and I didn’t realize until his little arms wrapped around my waist that he was running to me.

“What’s wrong?” I questioned slightly panicked. The same kid who had just run away from me had now run into my arms.

“My- hiccup-my-hiccup.” He was bawling hysterically now, I reached down and lifted him up into my arms. The kid must have weighed 40 pounds. He was so light that it couldn’t be healthy.

“Can you tell me what’s going on, sweetie?”

He began crying even harder. I started to pat his back in an attempt to soothe him.

I glanced down at my watch and realized I was supposed to be back to pick Chris up in 10 minutes.

“Do you want me to take you home, honey?” I looked down at him.

“I-I don’t have a h-home.”

I felt my heartbreak at those words.

“Come on,” I said readjusting him in my arms, “I’ll take you with me.”

Well, of course I would.

I couldn’t just leave him there!

-

I pulled into the studio parking lot and glanced back at the little boy who was buckled in the back seat. He had stopped crying but he hadn’t said a word to me since.

“I’ll be right back, okay. Don’t move,” I smiled at him. I winded down the front windows a crack, not enough to freeze him in the cold November air, but enough so he wouldn’t suffocate in the back of the car.

I walked inside the studio, to find Chris standing with Julia.

“I could always just take you to my place, Chris.” Julia smiled at him.

“No need, I’m here.” I said throwing the keys at Chris’ chest and then smiling, “We’ll see you tomorrow, Julia.”

She sent me a dirty look, but didn’t protest.

“Bye, Julia.” He said, leaning down to kiss her cheek.

Always the gentlemen, wasn’t he?

I began walking, not really caring whether he followed me or not. He had the keys, anyway. Half way to the car, he caught up with me, smiling his secret smile. I knew he was doing it to bug me, but it didn’t.

Nope, not at all.

I opened the door to car and sat down right when he opened the door.

Wait, I was supposed to be telling him something-

“Chris! I-” My words were cut off by him leaning across the car and attaching his lips to mine. He kissed me desperately, like it was something he needed and finally got. His hand held tangled in my hair as he continued his ministrations. Too soon our kiss was interrupted by a pair of tiny hands prying our faces away.

“Stop!” the little boy yelled angrily, and Chris’ face fell into a surprised expression.

I cleared my throat, “Well… I was trying to tell you that we had a guest!”

“And this guest would be?” He asked, clearly still shocked.

“Um…I don’t know his name,” I answered awkwardly.

Chris looked astonished.

“Lucky.” The little boy murmured.

“What?” Chris questioned.

“My name is Lucky!”

“What’s your last name?”

He shifted uncomfortably. “I don’t have one.”

Chris’ eyes narrowed “Who doesn’t have a-“

I cut him off by slapping him in the arm. “That’s okay, Lucky,” I said smiling, “There are tons of people who don’t have a last name.”

His eyes lit up when I said that and my heart cried for him a little more.

I heard Chris sigh next to me. “Kaela, can I talk to you outside?”

We both got out and stood a couple feet from the car.

“Where does he live?” He questioned me, as we stood outside.

“I don’t know.” I answered honestly.

“What do you know about him?” Chris asked sarcastically.

I couldn’t believe how he was acting.

“Stop acting like I picked up a strange man on the street! He’s a seven year old boy, who came running to me crying! Was I supposed to say ‘sorry, kid, I got places to be,’ and leave him there?” I shrieked angrily.

“So you know how old he is?”

No.

“You’re such an asshole!”

“No, I’m a realist Kaela. Did you ever stop to think that kid might have parents somewhere that are looking for him? That we could be considered kidnappers?”

Lucky hadn’t told me anything about having parents but he never said he didn’t have them either. “He said he didn’t have a home when I asked him.”

I could have been mistaken, but I thought a bit of emotion might have flickered before Chris’ eyes before it disappeared.

“He’s a stranger!”

I froze when he said that and stared directly into his eyes, “So was I.”

Understanding dawned on his face, when I said that, but I stalked back to the car seething. The damage had been done.

No, I wasn’t a stranger to him.

I was Ameliah.

Ameliah his first love. Ameliah, who needed help from him. He was Ameliah’s savior.

Not Kaela.

Not a stranger.

If I hadn’t looked like her, maybe I wouldn’t have even been here right now.

I opened the door and threw myself onto the car seat.

“Look, Kaela-“

“I don’t want to talk.”

He sighed, “You know you’re different.”

Different!

Haha, very funny, Chris.

The irony was that you didn’t help me because I was different. You helped me because you thought I was the same.

-

We pulled into Chris’ driveway to see that Monica’s range rover was parked there.

I jumped out of the car first and opened the back door to undo Lucky’s seatbelt. I pulled him into my arms, and I saw his eyes open wide at the sight of the house.

“Y-you live here!” He exclaimed. His eyes were lit up as if I had taken him to Disney world. I felt myself smiling beside myself. He looked at me expectantly, awaiting my answer.

“I-“

“Yes she does.” Chris said from behind me. Lucky’s head darted back to stare at him.

“With you?” he questioned.

“Yes.”

Lucky made a sour face and looked back up at the house. All the magic he had seen before had clearly vanished.

Chris opened the door with his keys and as we stepped in we heard Monica yell, “Chris, you’re finally home!” She rounded the corner and gasped when she got to the door.

Lucky buried his face in my shirt.

“And who is this little one?” she said smiling, “I didn’t know you had a son!”

My eyes widened in shock and I burst out laughing.

“He’s not my son!” I laughed, “He’s a… friend. Isn’t that right, Lucky?”

When he didn’t respond I tickled his sides a little and the sound of his laughter made my heart swell.

“Y-yes, I’m- her friend, stop!” He giggled, and squirmed in my arms.

Chris watched this exchange with an unmoving expression.

Monica looked up at me with a raised eyebrow, but still smiled.

I mouthed to her “It’s a long story.”

She nodded knowingly.

“Well, Lucky, I’m Monica, Chris’ sister!” he made a face when she said that, and she decided to add, “But I’m nicer and prettier than him.”

Lucky smiled at that.

Monica looked over at Chris and they shared a look.

“Lucky, it was nice to meet you. I’m going to go have a talk with my big, bad brother. I’ll see you at dinner, okay?”

Lucky nodded, and Chris and Monica left.

Lucky’s stomach growled and I suddenly realized he must have been hungry since he never got to buy his pizza.

“Want a snack?”

He looked up at me, as if debating with himself. Then he nodded slowly.

“Melissa,” I called. “Want to help me make rice krispies?”

-

We were all sitting at the kitchen table talking and laughing, waiting for the treats to be finished. Never once had I talked to Melissa about anything, but having Lucky there as mediator apparently allowed her open up a little more to me. She talked about how long she had been working for Chris and about how she remembered making snacks for her sons when they were younger. She didn’t question me much about Lucky, or ask me any personal questions about myself. She was content with the comfortable topics we were talking about.

Lucky had been given a piece of paper and a pencil to sit down and draw at the table. I was shocked at how well he could draw for a little boy. The faces he drew were full of detailed expressions, and shading. He was an artist, that’s for sure.

“What the fuck is wrong with you Monica?!” suddenly echoed throughout the house. Melissa and I snapped our heads up, but Lucky just kept drawing.

Then I heard a door slam and loud angry steps coming from upstairs.

“She deserved to know, “came Monica’s hard voice from upstairs.

“What? That she reminded me of my ex-girlfriend?! Why the fuck would she need to know that?”

“So she wouldn’t get hurt, Chris!” She yelled back, “So she could tell when you were looking at her- but not seeing her! So she wouldn’t fall head over heels in love with someone who, for all we know, is still deeply in love with someone else!”

There was a pause in the house when she said that.

Everything was silent, except for the sound of Lucky’s pencil against the paper.

Dammit people lemme know what you think! Lol HIT ME UP

Chapter 7; Sexy > Beautiful

“Kaela?”

I should’ve answered, but I couldn’t think of anything to say at this point. What reason could I give him for being sprawled out on his bed in my underwear?

No logical one, that’s for sure.

My heart raced in my chest, and my face turned red with embarrassment. I picked myself up and instead of getting off the bed; I sat back against the headboard.

I racked my mind for something to say but couldn’t think of anything but, “Why are you here?”

“I forgot to grab some cond-” He paused mid-sentence, then gave me a piercing stare; the kind that I could feel all the way down in my bones.” Why are you in my room?”

I didn’t know what to say to that so I sat still and said nothing.

“Kaela,” Chris questioned again, “why are you in my room?”

Rejection.

That was the fear that kept my voice in my throat. I looked up at Chris and saw a man who was famous, could take and break any girls heart if he wanted to and who had enough money to buy me for a lifetime.

And that’s when the thought hit me.

Chris was a man.

Flesh and blood.

Just like every other man in the world.

Just like Trey and just like my clients.

I took a breath and looked him straight in the eye.

“I want you.”

He didn’t seem too surprised by my words but his gaze smoldered instantly.

“What’s that, Kaela?” He said as he took a step toward the bed.

It was too late to turn back now. And I didn’t want to. I wanted him here and now and I was going to try my damn hardest to make sure that happened tonight. I sent him a seductive glance and spread the legs I had had cradled to my chest, wide, in offering. “I want you, Chris.”

By this time Chris had paused in front of the bed, “Come here,” he growled beckoning with his hand.

I complied, moving closer to edge of the bed and kneeling so that his face was in front of my mine.

His face moved to breathe against my ear. “Kaela, you better be sure about this.”

“I’ve never been so sure of something in my life,” I whispered back.

He didn’t need to be told twice.

He pulled me into his arms and kissed me fiercely sending my body into a sexual frenzy. I moaned with delight into his mouth and arched my body into him. The kiss reflected the release of both of our pent up sexual frustration. It was eager, and needy and raw with untamed desire and renewed sexual promise.

He lowered me down onto the bed only breaking the kiss to get rid of his shirt, which he threw on the floor. And then his mouth found mine again briefly before reattaching itself to my chest as he skillfully removed and discarded my bra.

I almost cried out in shock and pleasure as he lowered his mouth and bit my nipple tenderly. He then swirled his tongue around it erotically and tugged it into his mouth eliciting a soft gasp of approval on my part. The attack on my nipples were rough enough to show me the depth of his primal desire but were followed by tender kisses and tugs aimed to heighten my pleasure.

I was rendered breathless mere seconds into his play.

“Kaela, you don’t know how long I’ve wanted to do this to you, “he breathed as he began flicking his tongue across the tip of my bud. I couldn’t respond; it was too much already.

I felt his hands slide down my body and barely repressed a shiver. His mouth came back up to mine and I wrapped my arms around him and pressed my body into him wanting his body to be as close to mine as possible.

I was so wrapped up in the kiss; I didn’t notice him slide my underwear down my legs until I felt his fingers press into my sex. I moaned into his mouth and bucked my hips into his which caused him to groan in return and begin rubbing circles around my clit. My breath caught in my throat as the pleasure of it all overwhelmed me.

He began rubbing faster and harder in a chaotic rhythm that made me slowly feel myself drifting away. My hips were arched up into his palm and when he finally sunk his fingers into my opening, and brushed my magic spot, I could feel myself begin to tremble.

“Does it feel good?” He whispered in my ear.

I want to scream yes, tell him I loved it and that he was amazing and that my body was on fire but the words were caught in my throat as he began hitting that spot dead on, one time after another. I was lost, I was so close.

And when he lowered his mouth to my nipples again I was sent into sensation overload.

“Come for me, Kaela.”

And I did.

“Ahh,” I gasped feeling the pleasure come in waves. My body thrashed against his and drowned in the intense orgasm that washed over me.

“Chris!” I screamed as he plunged into me right after, with one quick and hard thrust that hit my g-spot with as much mind blowing accuracy as he did with his fingers. I never saw the end of my first orgasm. He kept thrusting in and out of me building my already sky high pleasure to out of this world bliss. My hips met his every thrust and we moved fluidly to the erratic beat of our sex song.

Our wild, desperate, and primal sex song.

Before I knew what was happening, Chris lifted me into his arms and flipped me around so that now I was facing his headboard and my back was to his chest. I sat riding him in his lap completely impaling myself on him as he reached in between my legs to stroke me.

I probably orgasmed three times before he finally lost himself to the ecstasy and trembled in my arms.

He collapsed onto the bed and I fell back resting my head on his chest which was breathing heavy from exertion.

We had finally done it.

And it had been beyond what words could describe. Better than any other sex I had ever had in my life, which were all blurred into the same monotonous whirlwind of clients and their one-sided attempts at pleasure.

This.

This had been amazing.

“Kaela?” Chris questioned in a husky bedroom voice.

“Mmm?” I was still too lost for words.

Chris never got to finish what he was saying because his cell phone ringing on the bedside table stole both of our attention.

He picked up the phone and muttered a curse followed by the name, “Julia.”

That brought me out of my blissful state pretty quickly as I grabbed the phone from Chris’ hand and answered it.

Chris, baby, where are you?”Came Julia’s voice on the other side of the phone.

“Sorry Julia, this isn’t Chris. It’s Kaela. He told me to tell you he’s sorry he couldn’t make his plans, but he’s not feeling…”I paused, “um, well enough to leave bed at the moment.”

More like we was feeling too good to leave bed at the moment.

Is he okay?” She questioned sounding a little suspicious and, maybe a hint, worried.

“Yes, yes, it’s nothing I can’t take care of,” I smirked as Chris sat watching me with one eyebrow raised. “Well I’m going to go; I don’t want to leave him by himself for too long. Goodnight.”

I clicked the phone off before she could respond and handed it back to Chris, smiling.

“What was that?” he questioned amused.

“Nothing,” I smiled at him trailing my hands down his naked torso. “I’m just not finished with you yet.”

“Is that so, Kaela?”

“It is, indeed.” I winked as I cupped his balls in my palm.

I woke up a quarter to eight with the sun streaming in from the window. My head was resting on Chris’ chest and I could tell he was still fast asleep through the steady rise and fall of it. I tugged gently out of the arm he had strewn loosely around me and tip-toed out of the bed noiselessly.

Last night almost felt like a dream.

What started off rough and crazed had ended gentle and tender. It had been filled with emotions that I had not ever known to enter a bed room. By the end of the night, Chris had held me like he thought he might break me. Like I was some fragile doll he needed to be careful with.

Part of me loved it. It had made me feel precious and… loved.

But that’s when another part of me knew that at that particular point in time Chris was not seeing me in front of him. His eyes had held a distant vulnerability that I’m sure wasn’t meant for me to see.

I walked into the bathroom and threw water on my face. I looked in the mirror and felt beautiful.

Not hot, or sexy but beautiful.

My complexion was brighter, my eyes had more light behind them and my cheeks were rosy.

I didn’t like it.

I knew that this would happen and it was exactly what I wanted to avoid.

Because right now I knew that unintentionally I had just strung an invisible thread to Chris. And I knew that from the beginning he was exactly the type of guy to make me do that. I knew that I shouldn’t have had sex with him. I had felt it down to my core but desire had won out and I had done it anyway.

I didn’t regret it.

Yet.

And the fact that he was the very thing that made me vulnerable to hurt led me to know that I would regret it.

But what’s done is done, right?

All I needed to do was make sure that that invisible thread did not multiply and then maybe when it was time to let go it wouldn’t hurt so much. Not much at all.

Now that I was aware of what he could do to me, I could protect against it. Ignore his tender looks and caring touch. I could separate heart and body easily. Sex didn’t need emotions.

I took one last look in the mirror and decided, I’d rather be sexy than beautiful.

-

“Chris!” Monica chirped from behind the door before opening it and gasping, “My god, this entire room smells like sex!” She said looking at the two of us in bed.

I had climbed back in after going to the bathroom in attempt to get some more sleep. But it was obvious God had other plans for me when Monica came barging into the room not even an hour later.

“Monica, ” Chris groaned, “What are you doing here?”

“Well, originally I came to drop off Kaela’s clothes and apologize for not showing up yesterday, but I could join this little party if-“

“Get out!” Chris commanded as Monica giggled.

“So possessive,” she commented sticking out her tongue. “I was only joking, why would I ever want to hop into bed with my baby brother? I used to change your diapers when your penis was just a microscopic-“

“Get the fuck out, Monica!” Chris yelled through my laughter at Monica’s little memory.

“Yeah, yeah. I’ll be in the guest room when you’re done Kaela. “She said and winked before exiting the room.

“I love your sister.” I said smiling at him.

“Well I’m the only Brown you better be jumping into bed with.”

“If I recall, you kind of threw me in.” I said laughing.

He grinned before he pushed my shoulders down and pressed his mouth into mine for another hot kiss.

“The only Brown who you jump, fall, are thrown, pushed, or pulled into bed with.” He corrected using his husky bedroom voice. I could already feel my body awaken with new desire.

“I think I might be able to comply with that,” I said sticking out my tongue. “Although everything has its price,” I joked.

He laughed before questioning curiously, “How much do I owe you for last night?”

“Well,” I started, “I would normally charge a client $200 an hour, $1000 a night. But with the shopping me and Monica did with your card, I’d have to say I owe you money.”

“I have enough money. Looks like you’re going to have to repay me with your body,” Chris smirked.

“There’s always a catch, isn’t there?” I smiled, “It’s a good thing I don’t like being in debt. You just earned yourself a whole lot of sex.”

“Luck has always been on my side,” he said as he began caressing my skin. I grabbed his hands to halt his movements.

“Monica needs me,” I reminded him.

“I need you,” he shot back.

I could feel my body respond to his words instantly. It was like it was answering, ‘I need you too, Chris.’

“You’ll survive a few hours.” I said pulling out of his grasp and picking up my underwear from off the floor.

-

“So?” Monica questioned excitedly, “How was it?”

I looked at her, a grin spreading over my face.”Amazing.”

“I expected no less. His hands?”

“Perfect.”

“I knew it!” She smiled as she helped me sort through the clothes so that one of the house keepers could hang and arrange them in the closet. “I can’t believe you guys had sex in his room.”

I looked at her questioningly, “Why?”

“Well he doesn’t usually bring women home. Much less in his room, since…” She trailed off.

“Since what?”

She gazed at me contemplatively, as if wondering if she should continue or not.

“Since Ameliah.”

I glanced up, “Who’s Ameliah?”

She quickly looked over at the closed door before continuing.”Ameliah is one of Chris’ ex-girlfriends; a high-school sweetheart of some sorts. His first love. “

I don’t know why, but I felt a little pang in my chest at those words. “What happened?”

She sighed, “Things didn’t end well. They were young. He was stupid. She was weak. They were both too head over heels in love for their own good. I liked her, I really did. She reminds me a lot of you, especially now with the black hair. You two look alike.”

I was a little shocked by her words. “Does-Do you think he still loves her?”

Monica looked at me sadly, “I don’t think he’s ever let her go. She hurt him really bad when she left. More than Chris likes to let on. But I can read him. He’s my baby brother.”

Somewhere in my mind it clicked that who Chris had held so gently last night was, indeed, Ameliah. It wasn’t me, as I had guessed. But the realization did sting a little.

I had sex with tons of men who had called out millions of different names when we were having sex. But that had never bothered me; after all they were paying to use my body.

But something about sex with Chris, felt more personal, more intimate. I didn’t want him to be thinking about someone else while in bed with me.

I don’t think anybody would.

Casual sex or not.

“He told me you were a lot like her the first time he talked to me on the phone about you. It had been the day after you met, and I had never heard such a drive in Chris’ voice since Ameliah. I think, somewhere deep down he believes you’re his second chance with her.”

“I don’t want to be his second chance with her.” I started suddenly annoyed with Chris and his thought pattern. “I’m not her. I’m Kaela, and I don’t know how much I’m actually like this chick, but I’m my own person.”

“I know that!” she chirped, smiling. “You have a stronger personality than her. You’re better suited for my brother and he’ll figure that out sooner or later. I have no doubt he’ll fall head over heels for you. He just needs time.”

Head over heels?

Like- in love?

Fat chance.

“Monica, you do understand that this is just-“

Knock.

Both our attention was diverted to the door, as it opened slowly.

“Kaela,” Chris started as he stepped inside. “Johnny wants you in the studio today. Have you decided if you’re going to take the part?”

“The part?” Monica questioned with her eyes wide.

“Kaela’s been offered the second leading female role in my movie.”

“Oh my god!” Monica squealed, throwing herself into my arms, “Congrats!”

I hugged her back affectionately before breaking away and looking back at Chris.

“I don’t know if I can. My face will be everywhere, and somewhere down the line something is going to go wrong. I might look a bit different , but my face is still the same. I don’t think it’s a good ide-“

“Nonsense! This is a once in a lifetime chance Kaela. I could get any type of identification made for you with fake information. Id, drivers license, birth certificate, school records, you name it.”

I looked at her questioningly.

“I’ve got a friend.”

“Both you and Chris seem to be keeping some shady company.” I said referring back to his, ‘I was visiting a friend’ comment when I questioned him about driving through skid row the first time I met him.

“They come in handy.” She winked. “Now go take that part. I’ll have fun devising the life story I’ll send to press. Pay a few people, I could buy you a fake grandma in the country, and voila. You’ve got yourself a new identity. “

I looked between Chris and Monica and knew that my decision had been set. I was going to be playing Sara’s part in the movie. I was as excited as I was nervous.

“You two are impossible.”

As if practiced, they shot each other a look, placed a Cheshire smile on their face and said in unison, “We try.”

Chapter 6; Would you like some fries with that?

I woke up in slightly better mood than I was in last night. Which wasn’t saying much. But what could I say? I wasn’t used to having to wait for sex.

And I didn’t plan on getting used to it either.

I stepped out of bed and stalked into the bathroom, not fully prepared to see the horrible state I was in.

I looked like a fucking raccoon.

Remnants of last night’s make up melted down my face making the skin around my eyes a nasty shade of purple and black. Not to mention I smelt like sweat, musk and… Chanel No. 5. Not the best combination. I was in desperate need of a shower.

-

“Chris! What the hell is going on?”A loud voice coming from downstairs bellowed, just as I was turning off the shower.

“Calm down Johnny.” I heard Chris’ familiar voice try to soothe.

“No, I will not calm down! This was not in our plans. Julia was in our fucking plans! Remember? Pretty, pouting blonde loved by the whole fucking country?”

Julia?

Julia Sashcrow?

That whore.

(The bad kind, I mean.)

“I guess the plans have been altered.”

“Chris, for fucks sake, the plans can’t be fucking altered! I wrote them. I’m the manager. This is The entertainment business. Everything is scripted! I wrote your script, and you can’t fucking alter it on your own!”

“But I did.”

“I know you did asshole! Please tell me what the fuck is going on? Who is this in the picture?”

By this point, curiosity had gotten the best of me, and I fully intended to have a look at this mysterious Johnny guy. I tied a fluffy robe around me, and wrung my hair out the best I could before I left the bathroom, leaving the faint scent of French Vanilla shampoo in the air.

I opened my door quietly and tiptoed towards the grand staircase.

“Her name is Kaela.”

“I don’t give a shit about her name, Chris. Who is she to you?”

“An old friend,” I answered from the top of the stairs. Both men looked up from their position at the door as I made my way down the steps. I paused in front of who I assumed to be Johnny, outstretched my hand and gave a winning smile. “I’m Kaela Anderson, it’s nice to meet you.”

Johnny was a man of about average height with hair slicked back by gel. He was wearing a gray suit, tie and all, and his wrist held the biggest, diamond-encrusted watch I had ever seen.

But more importantly, he was staring up at me like a deer caught in headlights.

“Kaela, this is Johnny, my manager. He seems to be tongue-tied at the moment.” Chris said holding a satisfied grin.

“What-yeah. I’m Johnny. His manager,” and with that he grabbed my hand in his and shook it for so long I had to forcefully pull my hand out of his grip.

“Why don’t you come in and have breakfast with us, Johnny? That way, we can get this problem sorted out.”

“Problem?” I questioned innocently.

“No, no, no. No problem at all!” Johnny said shaking his head furiously.

Checkmate.

“I’m going to go up and change. I’ll meet you in the dining room,” I smiled continuing my charade fully aware that Johnny was drinking it up.

I sashayed up the stairs with a little more ‘oomph’ than necessary, knowing damn well both men were watching me.

Take that Julia.

-

Melissa had prepared a hearty breakfast of eggs, bacon, pancakes and toast for us. When I arrived at the table, the scent of it wafted into my nose and sparked a hunger in me that I didn’t know existed. It had been years since I had eaten a home cooked meal.

“Jewels” had never tasted home cooking. All she ate was fast food, take-out and whatever could be delivered.

I sat down and piled food onto my plate noticing the fact that both men had stopped their conversation to watch me.

Not that I cared.

I shoveled some onto my fork and stuffed it in my mouth, moaning with delight at the nostalgic taste.

“This is so good!” I chirped.

“I can tell. You looked like you’ve been starved,” replied Chris teasingly.

Not only just for home cooked food…

I don’t know if Chris could read my mind, but his mouth turned slightly into a smirk and his gaze rested on mine showing me that he had caught onto his little innuendo.

“So,” Johnny questioned, taking a sip from the coffee mug in front of him and studying us, “are you two dating?”

My eyes widened at the suggestion, and I quickly rushed out, “Gods no.”

Chris’ eyes glanced at me briefly but moved away before I could try to read them.

“Alright, well are you guys fucking each other?”

I was in the process of shoving pancakes down my throat when he asked that one.

Not good.

I choked on my food and coughed up the piece that had lodged into my throat. Thankfully it did not go flying into my plate, it just popped out and I swallowed it down my throat the right way.

“Why does it matter?” Chris questioned calmly. Which annoyed me.

A lot.

“Well, Chris. If you are screwing her, we can’t very well continue with Plan A which involved Julia and little Aryan children. On the other hand, if you’re not-” He looked over at me smiling, which led me to believe he was hoping for the second answer for more personal reasons, “-then we can proceed.”

Some part of me wanted to yell that we were and that he should tell Julia to back off. But that was not only a lie, but a very blatant display of jealousy on my side. Which was unusual, and uncalled for because of the fact that we did not have any form of attachment to each other. I didn’t even know if you could call us friends. Prostitutes aren’t friends with movie stars. If it weren’t for our fake cover story, I would never put the word ‘friend’ in the same sentence as me and Chris. I didn’t even know why he still kept me at his house. Especially because if last night was any indicator, he didn’t even plan on having sex with me.

“No we aren’t having sex.”

Who needs last night?

He just said it loud and clear.

“That’s good.” Johnny smiled at me, and then realized that he should probably give an explanation for his words. As if I didn’t already know the real reason. “Because messing things up with Julia wouldn’t have been good.”

Chris didn’t respond. The rest of breakfast was pretty quiet, with occasional comment about new roles and jobs for Chris from Johnny.

I sat and ate mulling over my thoughts of not belonging and wondering when this charade would be over. I also remembered that I was supposed to have plans this morning. Not that I really did, I just didn’t want to look stupid. I debated on what I should do, and sighed when it occurred to me that I might as well just go with Chris. Maybe I’d see Trey again.

And maybe I’d take him up on his offer last night.

“Chris,” I said, clearing my throat, “I found out this morning my plans were cancelled, looks like I can go with you to work.”

“Alright.” He said, thankfully not questioning my suspicious ‘cancelled plans.’

When breakfast was done we stood and walked Johnny to the door.

“Hey! Why don’t I drop Kaela at the studio? This way we don’t have to worry about anymore pictures in the newspaper. They’re going to be trailing you now, Chris”

“That’s a good idea,” Chris responded, “Kaela you should ride with him.”

“Okay.” Now that it didn’t matter whether he liked me or Julia better, I wasn’t too ecstatic to be spending time with Johnny. But I wasn’t going to argue, he was right after all.

We didn’t want people to get the wrong idea.

-

HA!

The wrong idea?

After reading the papers on the ride to the studio, I realized how pointless that effort was. They already had the wrong idea. The WAY wrong idea.

Proposed?

Me and Chris?

With a baby on the way?!

Monica could not have been more accurate. I thought I was ready, but believe me when I say; nothing can really prepare you for it. I was on the front cover in the arms of Chris Brown with a headline that read ‘The Wild Enchantress That Has Stolen His Heart.’

Wild enchantress?

I couldn’t stop laughing as I read. Tears pooled in my eyes and Johnny probably thought I was insane for a moment.

But that was earlier.

Currently, I was standing in the hallway of the studio mooching off of the free donut and coffee stand.

“I thought I would find you here.”

I snapped around and found Chris standing in front of me, shirtless. He really had a beautiful body. Every couture of every muscle was outlined and defined. And the wideness of his body just oozed masculinity and strength.

“You could stare all day,” he smirked.

“Please, I’ve seen enough men’s bodies.” I diverted my eyes from him quickly, “do you need something?”

“Yeah, actually. I usually go over my lines by myself, but I thought you might want something to do. “

He thought right, of course. His ‘exciting’ scene had yet to be filmed, and I was a little bored. I followed him to the emergency stair case where he sat on one step with his script in his hand. He threw another one at me, “Page 112, Scene 4. You’re Sara, Joshua’s wife who he does love but is cheating on with Hannah.”

I remembered this well.

Sara, I- She-“Chris sounded frustrated and angry with himself.

I don’t want to hear it, Joshua,” I said my voice dripping with sadness, ” I don’t. Please don’t say anymore.”

I thought I almost saw shock flash before Chris’ eye, but it could’ve been just my imagination.

I still love you.” He said strongly.

Just stop.” I said, turning away from him as directed in the script. “You can be with her. I won’t stop you, I-it’s” I trembled purposefully, “It’s over.” It came out like a whisper.

Even though it was scripted, I didn’t expect him to snake his arms around my waist from behind. I melted into his touch instantly. “Sara, never again, I swear. Don’t leave me, I know you love me.”

I turned around and pulled out of his arms roughly.

I hate you,” I choked, “I hate you so much.” Surprisingly images of his sex scene with Julia flew through my mind.

You don’t mean that.”

I do.” I said with a sense of clarity.”Goodbye, Joshua.”

“You’re hired.”

I almost jumped out of my skin when I heard the voice from behind me. I spun around quickly and came face to face with who I remembered to be the movie director.

“It isn’t my job to do this, but you, you are Sara. It was perfect. Exactly how I imagined it before I gave that other imbecile the part. It’s yours. You’re hired.”

I stood there mouth wide open. I guess Chris and I had been so into the scene that we hadn’t heard the door open. The director overheard the whole thing and now… he wanted me to be in his movie.

This was impossible.

This was insane.

I went to school to be a lawyer.

Ended up working as a prostitute.

And then got hired to be an… actress?!

“I’m not a-” I paused remembering the fact that I told Julia that I was, indeed, an aspiring actress.

“You should give her time to think, Johnny. I don’t think she’s ever been offered such a big role. It could be stressful,” Chris thankfully filled in for me.

“You’ve got a day, kid. And your answer better be yes. Commission is $450 thousand. Those are big numbers for a newbie.” Johnny looked me straight in the eyes and gave me a look that almost dared me to say ‘no’ to him tomorrow. He was no force to be reckoned with.

How could I not take the part?

He left as quietly as he came and I turned to Chris stunned.

“What just happened?”

“You were just asked to play the part of Sara in this movie.”

“How?” I breathed out. This was nuts. I should have been happy, ecstatic even, but I was just too shocked. This was never in my plans.

Why isn’t anything in life ever in my plans?

“You’re really good. You surprised me for a bit there. It all felt,” Chris paused,” real.”

And it had. Every emotion and every line had just connected with me in some unexplainable way.

“I can’t. I’ll be all over the news. They’re going to find out at some point that I’m a prostitute.”

And that I was kicked out of Harvard for possession of illegal substances.

“We’ll talk about it later.”

The door creaked open and Julia sauntered in, looking as perfect as ever.

“Chris, “She purred, “You’re needed on set.”

Her glance swept past me like I didn’t even exist.

Bitch.

“I’ll be there in a second.”

“Alright.” she smiled flirtatiously at him,” Are you still coming over tonight?”

Coming over tonight?

Did that mean what I think it meant?

Chris looked at me for a second, before nodding, “Yeah, I’ll be there.”

He absolutely could not be going over to have sex with her. Not after rejecting me.

Absolutely not.

Julia left, leaving me and Chris alone in the stairwell.

“Have you had sex with Julia?” I asked bluntly.

He smiled at me, “A couple times, why?”

That was all the answer I needed.

“Just making sure not to be alarmed if I hear you coming in early,” I smiled back.

I was, indeed, a superb actress.

Or liar.

Same difference.

-

Chris’ action scene was supposed to be really cool and suspenseful. But I didn’t really have the attention span to pay much attention. All I kept thinking about was the fact that tonight he was leaving me to go be with Julia.

The concept wasn’t that difficult to get. She’s a star, he’s a star, and together they would make the perfect couple. Chris was not allowed to have sex with a prostitute. No matter how much he denied it mattering, I knew deep down it did. And I agreed with that decision fully. I had planned to stick by it in the beginning too, but the stupid prick had to be the most gorgeous, sexually alluring man on the planet.

And I was a nice instrument to practice his charming skills on.

Just my luck.

The scene ended after a good three hours, and although I was in no mood to see or be in the company of Chris, I was ready to leave and starving. There’s only so much donuts could do.

“Are you hungry?” Chris questioned sounding slightly breathless.

I nodded my head.

“We’ll pick something up on the way home. What are you in the mood for?”

“Doesn’t matter, whatever you want.”

“Well, I’ll probably eat at Julia’s so it’s your choice.”

That statement put me in a worst mood than I was already in.

“Stop at a McDonalds.”

Comfort food.

He looked at me strangely then shrugged his shoulders. “That’s fine with me.”

A hamburger, fries and milkshake later…

We pulled into his driveway and I sat for a second waiting for him to unlock the door. I looked at him expectantly and he gave me an odd, searching look.

“Goodnight,” he said in an almost husky voice.

I looked at him before whispering, “you too.” I took the key he handed me, unlocked the door myself and climbed out, trying not to think about the fact that he was going to sleep with another woman.

I mean, my jealousy was unreasonable.

Not necessary.

Unjustified.

But that didn’t mean I didn’t feel it.

At this point I would kill to have his arms around me again and his lips pressed to every sensitive part of my skin. I was past craving.

I was starving for it.

I ran up the stairs and whether knowingly or not made the wrong turn and instead of the guest room, I ended up finding myself in front of his door.

I knew I probably shouldn’t have, I didn’t really know what compelled me to go into his room, but I did.

I stripped to my underwear and climbed into his bed. The room smelt like him, mint and spice; an odd combination but dangerously sexy on him.

I didn’t plan on falling asleep or staying there for long. I just… I don’t know.

Wanted to feel his presence?

But I knew this whole decision was a mistake when I heard the knob of the door turn and saw Chris’ form appear in the doorway.

“Wh-Kaela, is that you?” Chris questioned glancing into the dark.

No.

No, its not me!

Chapter 5; She got mad skills

TURN UP THE MUSIC

Shut up, and let me dance!

“Chris you’re so much better looking in person,” cue ugly redhead who at the moment was rubbing against Chris like she had a bad itch in her side.

Rachel, who ‘d been introduced to me through Trey was, of course, a 17 year old girl who Trey had met at a modeling gig sometime in the beginning of the year. I could only assume that she was something akin to a fuck-buddy to him. She really wasn’t attractive enough to be a model but when I thought about it, who could tell who was pretty or ugly under all that makeup and after a good photoshop? All she had going for her was her height and size zero figure, if you could call it that. No chest, no butt, no hips.

Ick.

Speaking of no chest, she was very obviously trying to accidently rub the non-existent bud against Chris’ arm.

And of course he just sat there smiling, coolly as usual with no real expression on his face.

And of course maybe I could have just been in a bad mood since I had left the house with my sexual desires unquenched.

“Chris, will you dance with me?” Rachel pleaded flirtatiously, which made me want to yell, ‘No one is attracted to fire-crotches!’

Okay, maybe that’s unfair.

I’ve known some pretty attractive red heads in my life.

She just wasn’t one of them.

“Of course,” Chris answered not sparing me a glance as he got up and out stretched his hands for her to take it. She giggled like a hyena as she got to her feet and followed him to the dance floor.

I must have looked a tad pissed because Leah, another one of Trey’s friends, turned to me and asked, “Are you alright?”

I took a deep breath and schooled my expression. I tied my emotions up and threw them into the dark, unreachable depths of my mind. Then I faced her with a large smile.

“Yeah, I’m just pretty down because I don’t have anyone to dance with.” I turned to look at Trey and Paul who were in deep conversation beside me in the circular booth.

Leah got an excited expression on her face before replying, “Do you want to dance with me? I was too afraid to ask before.”

“Of course,” I beamed at her and took her arm as we got up and out of the booth. Leah had dirty blonde hair and big, fake breasts. If I had met her under other circumstances I probably wouldn’t have talked to her, but throughout the night she had proved herself to be a nice girl. Who like me, just wanted to have some fun. She wasn’t as whiny as Rachel and was shockingly, a whopping 24 years of age. It must’ve been a record for Trey, although I wasn’t quite sure if there was anything more than friendship between them. It didn’t seem that way.

Looking out at the VIP dance floor I could see the space packed with throngs of people as tightly as they could be fit together. It was a sea of clothed sex, and I wanted to be right dab in the center of it. The music playing was an almost hypnotic beat and it had my hips swaying before me and Leah even got on the floor. The strobe light pulsed with renewed fervor as the beat of the song became wild. Leah and I began moving along with the rhythm, very comfortable together on the dance floor. So comfortable that neither of us thought it was weird to dance with and on each other. I could have only imagined how hot we looked to the men watching us.

I reveled in the attention, and suddenly hoped that somewhere Chris would be watching me too. I looked around and could find him nowhere. I was a little put-out at that fact but I wasn’t the type to give up. He would see me, he would want me so much that he wouldn’t be able to walk away from me and tame the wild beast I knew he was hiding somewhere inside of him. Two men came up beside me and Leah. Both of them were handsome, and Leah eagerly leapt into a dance with one of them. I declined the other because at the moment I was too preoccupied with thinking of a way to get Chris to notice me. I hadn’t even realized that I had walked over to the bar until I heard a voice behind me.

“Hey sugar, can I buy you a drink?” A man who looked kind of like a classier version of Mr. P settled his arm around me.

I looked at him, and thought briefly of my attempt to avoid alcohol tonight. “Sure.”

He smiled happily at me, and looked to the bartender who came over quickly. “I’d like a shot of gin and for the lady?”

“A coke.” I smiled.

“A coke and rum-“

“Virgin.” I beamed at him amused.

“Virgin?” he raised his eyebrows at me.

“I can’t hold my alcohol.”

“Don’t worry, I’ll take care of you.” He smirked at me, “a coke and rum-“

“Virigin.” I laughed and he scowled.

I took my drink from the bartender and walked away from the Mr. P look alike. They both gave off the same sleazy feeling. He must of thought I was stupid or something, let him take care of me? I already learned from my mistake of vesting my trust in Mr. P.

I stepped back into the crowd and the view of a drunken girl making an idiot out of herself on a stage pole hit me.

That’s it!

I pushed through the crowd, delirious with my happiness. Before meeting Mr. P I had tried my hand at a strip club which had closed down about 3 weeks after my employment due to a shoot out. But not before I had acquired some tricks of the trade in the art of pole-dancing. I stepped up onto the stage where the girl made a sound of shock before smiling and staggering back down to the floor.

I spun around the pole expertly to a sultry song that had just begun playing. I looked down at the male and female eyes that regarded me both with fascination and hunger. Still no Chris though. I lifted one of my legs to twist around the pole and the wrapped my other around it so I was now upside down. Focusing on my arm strength I stretched both legs off the pole and threw my head back with a seductive smile on my face as I slowly twirled down.

There.

His brown eyes pierced through me as the claps and hoots resounded around him. None of that mattered to me as much as his eyes did. I suddenly felt like a silly school girl trying to get her crushes attention. I was just as bad as Rachel and her tit rubbing attempt.

I leaned forward and brought my legs down. I smiled and bowed a little while I tried to figure out why I was trying so hard to get Chris’ attention. I climbed down pulling my arm away from the grasps that snatched my arms until I was met by a grip that didn’t seem to let go as I pulled.

“Look, I’m not in the moo-“I turned around to face Chris and his piercing brown gaze. Before I could struggle he had already pulled my back into his chest and settled his arms around my waist.

People danced around us in their crazy sexual haze and we just stood there. I felt his warm breath along my ear and neck, “You’ve got my attention, Kaela.”

I could almost taste the sex in his words. His tone was condescending but there was no denying the desire laced through it.

“Who said I wanted your-“I tried for a half hearted retort before being cut of as one of his hands slid down my inner thigh.

“None of that Kaela. I can tell everything you do has been in some attempt to get my attention. ” the hand that had moved down was suddenly moving up which caused my breath to hitch. “But what I wonder, is why you keep denying me.” His hand paused in its upward stroke and I felt myself release a breath.

I didn’t exactly know why I kept doing things to contradict my words. And at the moment I didn’t care how strange my behavior was. All I knew was that Chris’ hard body was pressed into mine, and my body was pulsing with unsatisfied desire. In response to his question I began rotating my hips against him.

“Kaela, you’re killing me,” He let out a husky sigh in my ear before he began to return my movements with his own. Before I knew it I had reached up behind me and threw my arms around his neck in attempt to keep his body as close to mine as possible. My body grinded into his with such untamed and raw desire, that if people took a second to look outside of their bubble, they would probably think that we were going to have sex right there on the dance floor.

And I wouldn’t have minded it.

Definitely not with the way his hands were caressing my skin and causing my mind to go blank. I didn’t hear the music, I felt the feelings it was projecting in my body. I felt a pulse in my chest and one of the same beat in more intimate areas between my legs. I could tell very well that Chris could feel the same phenomena as his erection pressed into my back.

“My god, could you two be any closer to having sex?” Trey came over smiling and yelling over the music, “Just friends, right? Not with that performance you’re not.”

I looked at Trey a mix of amusement and despair on my face. He was just what I needed and didn’t need.

“Dance with me,” I yelled over the music and threw myself into his arms. I swayed my hips directly into his, and caught his startled gaze.

“I never thought I’d see the day where a girl would jump out Chris’ arms and into mine, but I’m surely not complaining.”

I turned my face back just to glance at Chris and saw a lethal look in his eye. I smiled seductively at him and he returned it with a more dangerous smile which quickly wiped mine clean. The look in his eyes was enough to make me wonder if I’d be able to survive tonight.

It was a look that I had no doubt would haunt my sexual fantasies from this night on.

-

After dancing with Trey for a while, which had been extremely fun and had done a lot to calm my raging hormones we decided to head back to the table.

“Kaela, never again will drop before a man in that position again while dancing. You nearly made me cum all over myself!”

“Sorry, Tremaine sometimes I just can’t help having that effect on men.”

“If that ever happens again you might find yourself knowing just how small I’m not.”

“Doesn’t really matter, I’ve never chocked before,” I stuck my tongue out at him and started laughing, as I absentmindedly slid into the booth.

Right next to Chris.

Ugh, and all that crazy desire came flooding back with vengeance.

“Well you’ve never had me inside of you before either.”

Chris turned to us with interest and I suddenly felt like stirring him on.

“That’s true. Maybe we shall test this theor-” My word got caught in my throat as I felt Chris’ hand slide under my leather skirt.

Was he insane?!

“You suggested it, not me Kaela. Although I don’t know how Chris would feel about it.”

Oh my god.

I had to hold my breath as I felt his hand slide over the fabric of my underwear.

“If Kaela wants to,” Glide “I wouldn’t mind if she went home with you tonight.”

I could feel his fingers pushing away the flimsy material of my thong before I jerked away while squeaking, “No!”

Trey looked up at me like a wounded puppy and Chris held a disgusting satisfied smirk on his face.

“What I meant is not tonight, because tomorrow I have somewhere to be early in the morning and I’m dead tired.” I smiled at Trey before leaning over and whispering, “Another time.” Chris settled his hand on my leg again and I pulled away shooting him daggers through my eyes. But still he held his unmoving smile.

“I think I’m going to be sick!” Rachel whined, just before she threw up all over the floor around the booth. Leah looked at me and we both shared a secret conspirator smile.

Should have left the partying to the adults!

“Aww, Rachel I thought since Kaela wasn’t coming home with me, at least you could. Now you’ve gone and ruined everything!” he said half joking and half disappointed, “That’s the downside to the young ones; they party too hard!”

“What about Leah?” I teased and suddenly the table got quiet. Leah looked away and Trey’s smile wavered a bit. Apparently I had said something wrong.

“God,” Rachel groaned as she spewed again.

“Okay little one, looks like I need to take you home! Paul, can you take Leah for me? I’m going to have my hands full with this one.”

“No problem, man.” Paul and Trey rose from their seat and Trey lifted Rachel into his arms easily.

“Are you sure Kaela? A day is too long for me to go without,” He smiled cheekily.

“Anoth-“Chris’ entire palm was now resting against my mound. I shot him a withering look, before turning to Trey and instead saying, “Sorry.”

His hand moved away then and I jumped from my seat to free myself from his attacks. I did not deny that I wanted him, but I wanted him in a way where both of us lost control, not just me. I absolutely loathed the amount of control he had over himself.

I wanted it to crumble.

Hell.

Maybe I did want him to rape me.

-

So I’m pretty sure you can choke on sexual tension in the air. It really does suffocate. Sitting across from Chris in his Bentley after leaving the club was an exasperating ordeal. I couldn’t help but think that at some point he would just pull over and tell me to hop onto him. And knowing myself, I probably would oblige within the second. Tonight I was too hot; too fucking bothered to not have sex with him. I could worry about what I’d done in the morning. But tonight, I needed him pumping in and out of me until I couldn’t take it anymore.

In an attempt to dissolve some of the tension I reached for the radio knob and turned it on.

I’m on a mission

And it involves some heavy touching, yeah

You’ve indicated you’re interest

I’m educated in sex, yes

And now I want it bad, want it bad

A love game , a-”

This absolutely wasn’t helping.

Change.

Touch my body

Throw me on floor

Wrestle me around

Play with me some more

Touch my bo-“

Click off.

God must really hate me.

Chris eyed me through the corner of his eyes, with his lips half turned up like he was suggesting that I made the radio play those songs!

The heat in between my legs was becoming really uncomfortable and I almost couldn’t wait to get home and experience the activities that I was sure to come later tonight. I could imagine his hands, as large as Monica had claimed, touching me everywhere. I couldn’t tell if he would be rough or gentle. I had never experienced gentle and the young, wistful side of me sort of wanted to know what it was like. But the crazy sex starved side of me, didn’t really care how it happened, just that it did and that it was hard, crazed and satisfying. I closed my eyes and smiled to myself refusing to think of the repercussions of what tonight’s act might be.

“You can sleep in the guest room tonight.”

My whole entire world exploded.

I bolted my eyes open and stared at him with something akin to shock, disappointment and anger. I managed to choke out, “Why?

“Well I have to get up early for work tomorrow, so I figured that way I wouldn’t wake you up when you were sleeping. ” He looked over at me briefly and smiled, “If you want to come to work with me again, I can arrange to have someone drop you at the studio.”

HOW

COULD

HE

BE

THINKING

ABOUT

WORK

NOW!

I could have killed him.

I could have chucked the nearest object at his head. Could have clawed into his face, chopped off his dick, popped open his fucking balls.

But instead I gathered what I could of my dignity and put a smile on my face. “No, its okay. I have something to do in the morning, too. I wasn’t lying when I told Trey that.”

“Oh, it’s too bad, tomorrow is supposed to be an exciting scene.”

“Oh? Another sex scene with Julia Sashcrow, the goddess?” I smiled sweetly even though the sarcasm seeped into my voice anyway.

“No, an action scene,” his smile faded slightly.

And I wondered why. Because he realized that his stupid action scene wasn’t as exciting as a sex scene with Julia Sashcrow?

As soon as he pulled into the drive way, I jumped out of the car before he could walk over and open my door. I stood rigidly as he picked his keys from his pocket and opened the door. He turned on one light and before he turned around I had already dashed up the main stairs and into the guest bedroom.

Maybe he had been right that I had always been rejecting him. And maybe I deserved this bad karma. But at least I wasn’t playing fucking games with him! I didn’t think the ache between my legs was funny at all. I ripped off my clothes and stared into the mirror not feeling half as sexy as I did when I left.

I was wet and hot and horny and karma be damned, I was going to orgasm tonight one way or another.

Who needed men anyway?

Men were useless bastards who couldn’t pleasure me half as well as I could pleasure myself.

…So why did Chris’ image appear in my mind as my hands found their way in between my legs… Why was it his name I screamed when I finally did orgasm?

And why did I suddenly miss the warmth of Chris’ bed, that I had been fine without early today?

Chapter 3; Ego damaged

The sun beating down on my face wasn’t exactly what woke me up. No, what really woke me up was the eerily familiar feeling that I wasn’t alone in bed. I opened my eyes slightly to see, just to find out that was exactly what I couldn’t do.

See.

Through the big chest that I was pushed in to.

Déjà Vu?

“Are you awake?” Chris’ soft voice rumbled through his chest, sending the vibrations to my head that was cuddled up into him. I briefly thought about denying the fact that I was awake, but thought better of it when I realized that if I did, I would never get any answers as to why I was once again in his bed- I looked down-

Fully clothed.

Another hit to my ego, Chris.

Congrats.

“I am now,” I replied while I rolled out of his arms, strangely missing the warmth that they had given me. I sat up, and instantly regretted it as I felt a roll of nausea hit me. I fell back onto to the bed, and moaned my disapproval at the sudden sick spell.

“Looks like you had one too many drinks last night.” Chris said grinning in amusement.

It took me a couple seconds to register what he was talking about, and the way my face fell when I did remember was enough to let Chris know that I knew exactly what he was talking about. I racked my mind for any uproar or embarrassments I might have caused, but to my horror my usually crystal clear memories had giant, gaping plot holes in them.

But if there was something I did remember; it was the kiss. My usually bronze skin flashed an ugly shade of pink when I realized that I had just about attacked him last night. And to make matters worse, he had been angry! I had done some pretty stupid things in my life, but that one took the cake.

“What am I doing here?” I questioned.

“You don’t remember being attacked last night?”

Nope, but I sure did remember doing the attacking.

“Not really, care to explain?”

“I guess one of your clients wasn’t too happy with you.” He said seeming to take amusement out of everything regarding me. “I intervened before he killed you, but in the end it was you who knocked him out.”

Images flashed across my mind of a silver stiletto coming in contact with a head. Before I could censor my chastising words, I blurted out, “What were you thinking? You could have been killed!”

He scoffed at my words, sitting up on the bed. “I’m surprised you think so little of me.”

“It’s not that,” I tried to explain, “it’s just that you’re-you’re an artist not a-“

“I’m a man before I’m anything else, Kaela. You damage my ego,” he said smiling.

“I’m sorry.” I apologized. My eyes roamed over his body, and I could tell that he was more than able to protect himself. An involuntary shiver ran down my spine as I remembered how tightly he had held me when I had kissed him. How well his body could completely encompass mine had he been on top and not me. “But why did you come back after-?” I stopped short when I realized what I was going to admit to remembering.

“Excuse me?”

“Never mind,” I rushed in, cursing myself silently.

“Come back after what, Kaela?” He said as he suddenly leaned across me, placing his arm on the other side of my body, trapping me on the bed. His eyes locked me in place, letting me know that there would be no getting away from him.

“After,” I started and looked away, “I kissed you.” It came out as barely a whisper. Embarrassment wasn’t something I felt after saying something as petty as the word ‘kiss’. I’ve talked dirty to countless men, I’ve said words that my mother would roll over in her grave if she heard, but for some stupid, fucking reason I was embarrassed to say the word ‘kiss’!

I looked back up at his face, disgusted with myself, to see yet another spark of anger before I quickly tried to amend the situation.

“I’m sorry, I didn’t really mean it,” I laughed nervously, “I was drunk, you see, and I do stupid things when I’m drunk that I never would do otherwise. Like kiss you- I would never do that if I was sobe-“

“Kaela.”

I looked up into his eyes, that told me loud and clear that I should stop talking. I could feel his warm breath surround my face before he breathed out, “What about me do you dislike?”

I looked at his serious expression and wondered where on earth that question came from.

“Nothing in particular-” I started.

Chris inched in closer to me until we were barely centimeters a part, his eyes displayed no emotion as he questioned, “Then why am I the only person you reject?”

For a second I didn’t breathe. The tension in the air was so thick it was suffocating.

Why did I reject…

Him?!

“When did-“I started off hysterical and confused.

“In my room when you accused me of being gay.”

I flinched, as I remembered my arms that automatically went up in response to his approach. But that was natural because…

“I-“

“At the party.”

When did I-

Was he talking about me letting go of his hand? He was with his girlfriend!

“She was your-“

“In the limo.” He cut off my explanation, staring at me so intensely that I wanted to hide under the pillows.

Memories of the night, flooded into my mind slowly, and I vaguely recalled telling him that I didn’t want his attention. I was lying of course, but how was I supposed to know it bothered…

“I-“

“When we kissed.”

Now that was all I could take before I blew up.

“What do you mean I rejected you. I was the one who kissed you!” This one couldn’t have possibly been my fault! “You- you were the one who was angry afterwards. You rejected me.

He looked at me in disbelief, but what on earth could be so fucking unbelievable. That was what happened.

“Kaela,” he said taking my face in his hands.

“Don’t Kaela me! You’re the one who left me by myself while you went off with your girlfriend! Chris, this is the second time I’ve woken up in your bed fully clothed! And I’m rejecting you!” He looked shell shocked at my words.

“Did you want me to rape you in your sleep?” He asked incredulously. “You were the one who told me you couldn’t have sex the first time.”

“And you implied that you weren’t going to in the first place. But of course you weren’t. Chris fucking Brown can’t have sex with a prostitute!”

“That’s it,” He exclaimed angrily.”That’s why I was angry! You look so goddamn disgusted or guilty every time I come near, but with anyone else you’re all jokes and winks. You wake up near me, you flip out and fall off the bed-“

“I was shocked.”

“And what about this morning, Kaela?”

I stared at him blankly.

“You’re Chr-“

“I know my name!” He took a breath before running his hand through his curls in way to calm himself. I couldn’t possibly believe that he thought I was rejecting him because it was something I wanted to do.

“I was disgusted with myself, not you.” I explained. “You’re-you know who you are, so I don’t understand why I’m the only one taking it into account.”

“Because you’re the only one that it matters to.”

I didn’t know what to say back to that. The calm, infuriatingly unmoved Chris Brown had just been stirred up by me.

“I’m sorry if I’m trying to help you not screw yourself over-“

“Why don’t you let me worry about myself.”

“It’s not only you!” I screeched. “What makes you think I want to be the front page news, with the words ‘whore’ and ‘prostitute’ written all over my face?!”

“Kaela this is bullshit, while you were flirting with all those other guys at the party that was never a thought in your mind.”

“I was drunk! I was wearing a mask, they didn’t know my name!”

“Kaela,” he said calmly. “We’re in my room, on private property, alone. Who exactly do you think is going to see us?”

I didn’t answer.

“So please tell me, what is the real reason you’re rejecting me?”

“You’re C-“I stopped before finishing, suddenly breathless as he leaned down and pushed his head to my stomach, which at the moment was doing flips-flops like a fish out of water.

“Is your stomach fluttering, Kaela?” He said suddenly smiling at me, his mood changing entirely as he moved up to my chest and laying his head against it. My nipples hardened instantly through his shirt. “You’re heart’s beating quite fast isn’t it?” The Cheshire grin on his face only widened.”Is this why you dislike me?”

In that moment I wanted nothing more than to scream yes and push him off of me. His face showed a sudden understanding that threw me for a loop, because I most certainly did not understand what was going on.

“Hmm?” He said as he lifted his head from my chest, obviously noticing my erect nipples through his shirt before slowly settling in front of my face.

Please kiss me.

The melody and vibrations coming from Chris’ cell phone on his desk, threw both of us back into reality. But where I was teeming with disappointment, of course Chris was there smiling his, annoying ‘I bet you wish you knew what I was thinking’ smile.

He climbed off of me and grabbed his phone, then leant against the wall.

“Talk to me.”

I rolled my eyes at the ‘super-cool’ way he answered his phone, but suddenly delighted as a quick flash of panic spread across his face.

Looks like even Mr. Perfect could get nervous.

He looked at his wrist, and I laughed knowing that there was no watch on his hand. Looking at the clock on the wall I saw that it read 11:30. My limbs felt cramped so I decided to get up and stretch.

“Yeah I kn-” he paused and I looked up at him from my bent position. “No, it’s nothing, yeah I know.”

Did I-?

Yes, I did.

I smiled as I conjured up another provocative stretching position.

“Kaela?” He questioned closing his phone.

“Yeah?” I answered innocently, getting off the floor and dusting myself off.

“Have you ever been to a movie set?”

Well, that wasn’t what I was expecting.

-

Bored.

8 hours.

I was sooooo bored. I started playing aimlessly with the clothing Chris had given me to wear that morning. His sister, he told me, had a whole room to herself in his house and he let me rummage through her stuff for something to wear. Of course her clothes were a size smaller than mine, and that was saying something, because I wore my clothes really tight. These were just about suffocating me, and hugged my body as close as skin. Lucky for me, it was at least flattering.

You’d think that this whole movie set thing would be interesting, but really it was just monotonous. This was the 28th time they were doing the scene over, because the stupid actress playing Chris’ girlfriend couldn’t say her lines properly. I mean it was obvious that if you caught your significant other cheating on you with someone as beautiful as Julia Sashcrow, who could be compared to a younger and slightly curvier Angelina Jolie; you’d feel small and not good enough. Whereas the idiot was portraying her as indignant and bitchy.

“Cut. Allison, I’ve told you plenty of times that you are not portraying Sara’s character right. She needs to look more broken, more- I don’t know- sad! You’re giving me bloody attitude. I thought you’d be good for this person, but you’re making me consider recasting your part, so get your act together.”

The words were harsh to me, but I turned to look at Allison and she seemed more angry then determined or hurt. She huffed and pushed her chest out before declaring that she needed a break.

“A break!” The director screamed after her.”You’ve had bloody three of them in the last two hours. That’s it. I want you out of this movie. I don’t waste my time on prima-donnas. We’ll find someone else. Everybody we’re shooting scene 28 from now. Ms. Sashcrow, please come on set.”

I watched as Julia sauntered on set, clearly pleased with the scene they had chosen. Chris looked around, and his eyes landed on me . I waved my hand, slightly.

No response.

Asshole.

The camera men, shuffled around, getting a different angle for the scene as the director barked orders to the staff.

“Action.”

Natalya, we can’t do this anymore.” Chris pleaded sounding surprisingly pained.

Joshua,” Julia purred as she slid a finger down his chest, “I need you.” Her voice came out as a seductive whisper. Chris’ face showed conflicted emotions as he stopped the motions of her hand.

Natalya, please.” His voice came out pleading yet husky at the same time.

No, Joshua.” Julia threw her arms around his neck. “I want you to kiss me.”

Natalya-“

Julia pressed her fingers to his lips.”You can’t deny me and you know it Joshua.”

And that was all it took for the cheating bastard Chris- I mean Joshua- to throw himself at Juli- Natalya. I watched them kiss with the same orgasm inducing intensity as when Chris kissed me. Julia’s shirt was the first one to come off, and it wasn’t until then that I realized that this was going to be a full-blown, the entertainment business sex scene.

I gasped as I watched Chris touch her in all the ways that I wished he could touch me. Boiling inside me was a deep desire to have his body pressed into mine, and watching your object of obsession re-enacting your fantasies with anyone but you was horribly frustrating. My fist clenched and unclenched as I sat in the chair, and at the sound of Julia’s first moan, I felt the urge to move.

To leave.

I stood quickly and walked off the set and into the beige hallway that lead to the other parts of the building.

I rounded a corner and saw a pretty display of coffee and donuts sitting on a table. I grabbed a powdered one, and let out a satisfied moan as the unexpected jelly slid into my mouth.

“Is it that good?”

Walking up to me was the same man Chris had identified to me as Tremaine Neverson. Or who I recalled referring to as Goldie. I swallowed.

“Amazing.”

By the way he was looking at me; I realized he did not recognize me. And of course he wouldn’t. It had been a masquerade ball.

“Sounded like it was.” He smiled, “I know it’s not polite to ask a woman this, but how old are you?”

Jailbait hunter.

I almost snorted.

“I’m legal in every state.” I smiled.

His smile widened. He stalked closer to me and rested his hands on my face, “You’re skin is flawless, it makes you appear younger than you are.”

“Seems like you’ve had your fair share of encounters with younger women.” I said smirking.

“That statement could be true.” He laughed, dropping his hand from my face. “I’m Tremaine Neverson. You can call me Trey tho.”

“I know.”

“Do you now?” He questioned.

“It seems you’re reputation precedes you.”

He laughed once again, his voice more of a tenor in comparison to the deeper and huskier toned Chris.

“I don’t go looking for them I swear!” He grinned, “But they seem to come at exactly my most vulnerable, sex-starved moments.”

This time I did snort, “You? Sex starved?”

“I’m addict. A day is too long to go without.”

“They have meetings for that.” I said as I stuck out my tongue and took another bite into the donut.

“I think I can handle it.” This playful banter reminded me of scenes from the night before. “So, what’s your name?”

I glanced at him, and watched him warily. His pretty face held an innocent smile, and the golden glimmer in his eyes made him seem almost angelic. I looked into his light brown eyes and against my better judgment I decided to trust him.

“I thought you liked our game of strangers” I smiled teasingly.

“Kaela.” His eyes opened wide in recognition. “The beautiful siren.”

“That name is much more embarrassing when I’m not drunk.” I laughed, not feeling particularly embarrassed, but knowing I probably should.

“What are you doing here? Oh wait, Chris’ movie is shooting here.” He started. But when his reasoning clicked in his mind, he shot me a curious glance before questioning, “What are you to him?”

I stood there, dumbfounded.

What was I?

Think of something!

“I’m-“

“She’s an old friend.” Chris’ voice came from behind me, as he threw an arm around my shoulder. He was sweating and I could feel it seeping into my shirt.

“Yuck!” I squirmed from out his grasp. “You’re all sweaty.”

“It got really hot in there.”

I froze at that statement.

Yeah, well that’s what happens when you’re fucking around with someone. Literally.

“I bet it was.” I said sarcastically, suddenly feeling my normal attitude come back to me. And it was about fucking time, since I stopped acting like the little blushing girl, I absolutely was not, in front of Chris.

He glanced at me, and I hoped he saw my uncaring expression.

“So, Chris how does it feel to be the luckiest dude on the planet? A sex scene with Julia Sashcrow! She’s like-a goddess.” Trey wriggled his eyebrows at Chris and nudged him, laughing. Then he shot a glance to me before adding, “Actually I’m starting to feel bad for you.”

“Why is that?”

“Because if you get stuck with her, you’ll never be able to have that one,” he continued, pointing to me.

“No worries, there was no chance anyway.” I said haughtily, causing one of Chris’ eyebrows to shoot up in question.

“Rejection. We’ve all got to face it sometime, man.” Trey said patting Chris on the back. “So, if not him, then maybe-“

“Anytime.” I winked. A memory of this morning’s conversation shot through my mind, as I realized what Chris had said was true. It was easy to flirt and smile with guys that weren’t him. I wasn’t the bumbling idiot around them, and hell, I liked it that way.

“Isn’t she a little too old for you.” Chris’ statement which I’m sure was meant to come out teasing, sounded a bit strained.

“Yeah, well, look at her!” He exclaimed.”I bet she even turns gay men straight.” I faintly thought to protest, knowing very well that I had tried, and failed to accomplish that feat, but thought better of it. Nobody really needed to hear that story anyway.

Chris didn’t reply.

“Anyway, what are you guys doing tomorrow night? I’m assuming you’re staying with Chris, right?”

“Yesir.”

“Well, me and some friends are going clubbing, why don’t you guys come along?”

I panicked at the thought of being seen out in the open with Chris without somehow hiding my identity. We had been overly careful just driving here. I had sat in the back seat of his car, with my hair tied up and a hat over my head. He had gotten out of the car first, and left me with the keys, where I had waited twenty five minutes, before getting out myself.

“Sounds fun.” To my horror, Chris responded. I searched his face for any signs that he might be joking, but when I found none, I quickly tried to think of an excuse.

“Actually, I’ve got an appointment-“

“You told me it was cancelled this morning, remember?” Chris deflected my excuse on purpose.

“But, you’re sister wanted to see me too, so-“

“Monica’s got a book signing tomorrow night”

“I can still-“

“She doesn’t even let me go there.” He smiled.

“But-“

“Yes?”

I paused, before trying pathetically.

“My grandma is-“

“Dead, yes I heard about it from Monica.”

I huffed, and shot him a deadly glare.

“Look if you don’t want to come, its fine.” Trey said, interrupting. He looked kind of put out and I felt sorry for seeming as if I was trying to avoid him.

“It’s not that, I just thought I had a ton to do tomorrow, but it looks like I’m free.” I smiled brightly, and being the gullible little blond he was, he drank it up.

“Great! I’ll call you Chris.” He said while walking away, “See ya, Kae.”

When he was gone, Chris turned an intense stare to me, and I could feel my face get hot at his inspection. I started to squirm slightly, and became angry that I had lost my only link to normalcy when Trey left. Suddenly an infuriating smile spread across Chris’ face.

“What is so god damn funny?”

“You.” Was his only response.

Me.

Me?

“I’m glad I amuse you.”

“Kaela.”

“Yes?” I snapped.

“I know you want me.”

“I-what?”

“Want.” He said slowly, “Me.” He took a step forward.

I thought about denying it, but knew it would be pointless, because I had pretty much admitted to that when I attacked him last night.

“What would you say,” he started again before I could respond, smiling predatorily, “-if I wanted you, too?”

Yes, please.

“No thanks.”

He looked taken aback by my answer. “I don’t understand.”

“Like I said before, there’s no chance. “

“Why?” He said backing me into the wall and trapping me with one of his muscled arms.

God, it’s been way too long since I’ve had sex.

“Because, we can’t.”

“Why not?”

Because you’re Chris Brown. Because you have a girlfriend. Because I’m not supposed to be seen with you.

“Because I don’t want to have sex with you.”

“That’s not what you said this morning.”

Crap.

“I got over it. I lose and gain interest quickly, superficially. What can I say? I’m a whore.” And with that I ducked under his arm.

“I’m hungry, buy me food.”

If Chris was affected by my sudden change of topic, he didn’t show it. All he did was walk to the door, open it, and wait for me.

Always the gentlemen.

-

Dinner had been…

Awkward.

Chris and his stupid eyes, watched my every movement. And to make matters worse, acting like he hadn’t just minutes before pushed me into the wall and basically implied that he wanted me, was difficult. Beyond difficult.

Now here I was, in the bathroom wearing a night gown I had taken from his sister’s room, unsure where I should go. He hadn’t exactly assigned me to a guest room, and I didn’t know if he expected me to stay in his room or not.

I also didn’t know why I was still here.

It’s not that I wanted to leave, being the masochistic fuck that I was, it was just odd that he was keeping me around for no apparent reason.

Knock.

I opened the door to see a short stocky woman of Spanish descent.

“Mr. Brown, told me to tell you to come to his room after you were finished.”

“Thanks,” I said as I left the bathroom, unsure which direction his room was in the big house.

“Down the hall to the left.” She said noticing my dilemma.

“Thanks.” I laughed.

She waved me off, and I wondered slightly what the lady thought of me being here. I got to the door, and knocked twice.

The door opened and I stepped inside as Chris closed it behind me.

“You look-“he paused, thinking of a word. “Innocent.”

I had to laugh. I tugged on the white gown, and the big bow at the chest.”Yeah, I guess I do.”

“Planning on seducing Tremaine in that get up?”

“Definitely.” I said, “I picked it out purposely hoping it would turn him on and you off.”

“I wouldn’t go so far as to say that.” He smirked.

I ignored him and instead asked, “Am I staying in here tonight?”

I hope not.

“Of course.”

Yes!

I mean nooo.

“Don’t get any ideas then.”

“But weren’t you the one who wanted to be raped in your sleep?”

Maybe.

“No, I was just mad that you didn’t come on to me.”

“What if I come on to you now?”

“Too late. We went over this. I lost interest.” I threw myself down on the oversized, overly comfortable bed, before yawning. “I’m tired, g’night.”

The lights went out and I felt the bed shift under his weight as he climbed in. Before I could protest, he wrapped his arms around me, and pulled me into his wonderfully hard body.”Goodnight.” He breathed huskily by my ear.

I gulped.
